New Report Outlines Strategies for Adaptation to Climate Change

WASHINGTON, D.C. – A consortium of sportsmen's groups including the Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Partnership this week released a new report, “Beyond Season's End,” that addresses how the negative effects of climate change on America's fish and wildlife populations can be mitigated through practical adaptive management strategies. The report stresses that funding for state fish and wildlife agencies via passage of national legislation is key to implementation of such on-the-ground approaches.  Read the full report...

University of Wisconsin-Whitewater team places fourth out of 40 teams in FLW Central Division Championship at Lake of the Ozarks



Some college dudes head for ocean beaches during Spring Break, others get caught up in NCAA March Madness, but students from 40 colleges and universities competed last weekend in the FLW Collegiate Fishing Central Division Championship last weekend at Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri.



A team from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, consisting of Tyler Netzer and Jordan Truttschell, placed fourth under extremely tough conditions. Sponsored by IronClads™ soft bait brands, Netzer and Truttschell scored two bass, with a total weight of 5 lbs. 11 oz.



The UWW Team IronClads™ anglers were aremed with the new Wak-E-Spins, TXS-Spins, Tube-Spins, Shad-Spins and Craw-Spins lines, in addition to premium IC-Inline series and pre-rigged weightless IronClads™ series designed for drop-shotting and skipping under docks and structure.



The top five teams from each regional championship will advance to the National Guard FLW College Fishing National Championship, a three-day televised event hosting the top five teams from each regional event, for a total of 25 teams. Each team will be provided shirts and wrapped Ranger boats towed by Chevy trucks for this competition.



The winning team will be declared the National Guard FLW Collegiate National Champion and will qualify for the 2011 Forrest Wood Cup.
